Favourite April Products: The monthly gems

I know I always say it, but wow April has gone fast. It has been a good month for me in lots of ways. I fit in trips to Paris and London to see the Dior exhibition, plus have had reached some exciting blog milestones and appeared in my Uni's official magazine (A little update post will come soon).

But on to my monthly favourites:

1. Clarins Lip Perfecter in 04 Petal Shimmer: A brand new shade to the line, I bought this in Paris. I'm not sure it's even out here yet. But I love it, it is a non-sticky, pretty pink gloss which has become a handbag staple.

2. Sleek Eyeshadow in Storm: I've heard lots about this on some of my favourite blogs. Sleek palettes are lovely, and the shimmery AND matte colours in this one are gorgeous.

3. Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche perfume: This is quickly becoming one of my favourite perfumes. The fresh, citrusy smell is irresistible and I have gotten through a small bottle of the stuff with absolute ease.

4. &other stories Luminising Powder in 1: I picked this up when I visited the Regent Street store this month, and it is super pretty as a highlighter above the cheeks/cupid's bow, inner eye corner. It is very pale with teensy bits of shimmer, so you have to use a fair bit for it to take effect but it is lovely.

5. Dr Jart Water Fuse Beauty Balm: I reviewed this in my post below, and it has become a constant favourite this month, especially for quiet, fuss-free days.

6. Maybelline 24hr colour tattoo eyeshadow in On and On Bronze: I can't believe I waited so long to try these, they are amazing. I have had several compliments when wearing this during the day. It is a lovely shimmery bronze colour but is still subtle enough to wear in the daytime.

7. Biotin vitamins: A form of Vitamin B, these have been raved about for their hair-growing capabilities. I read about them in a US Allure magazine, and obviously I am yet to see results as I have just started using them, but they are worth a go, and there is just something SLIGHTLY more mermaid-ish about my hair right now, but that may well be all in my head and not on my head.

8. Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat: I have heard lots of reviews regarding this one; some amazing (the best top coat around?), some not so good (disappointing and doesn't live up to the rave reviews). My opinion is that it does what it says on the tin. It dries quickly and keeps nail polish pretty chip free for slightly longer than your average top coat. Thumbs up from me.

9. & other stories Punk Bouquet body souffle: Another & other stories purchase (those guys are really going for it) which I adore. The smell is out of this world, and the texture is even better.

Hope you enjoyed my favourites, what have you guys been loving this month? Any of these bits in your April favourites? I would love it if you would follow me on Bloglovin' HERE :)

Dr Jart Water Fuse BB Cream: The Review

So it's a pretty well known fact that LOTS of beauty bloggers (and their mums) have tried Dr Jart's Water Fuse Beauty Balm. I joined the party a little late, I know. I snapped it up in Boots when it was on offer, and have been loving it ever since. Admittedly, I am NOT a BB girl; I usually find them far too light and slightly greasy.

My allegiance to foundation may have be compromised after trying this however. It is quite honestly the best BB cream I have used to date. I would not go as far to say I prefer it to foundation, (because I will always be a Dior Forever sort of girl) but it is definitely a nice alternative for when I want a lighter coverage base (usually when I am just staying in or popping out for a few hours) or when I want that 'my skin but better' look...Because that's the thing about BB creams, no matter how good they are, I usually find they are reserved for the days when your skin is looking its best; if not I always reach for a foundation with better coverage and staying power.

The BB cream itself is a lovely creamy formula which looks great buffed on with a real techniques brush. It has a light coverage (but better than any other BB cream I have used) and leaves you with a glowy, natural finish. Because of this, if you have oily or combination skin like myself, I would say you have to powder it or it may come off a little greasy. I have really enjoyed using this and the fact that it has an SPF makes it an all-round winner for me.

Have you tried Dr Jart's BB cream? Are there any other BB creams you love?

It is coming to the end of my second full month in the blogging world. I am enjoying writing Beauty and the B so much, and discovering lots of new lovely blogs every day. If you have enjoyed reading, follow me on Bloglovin' here. It would really make my day :)

Lemon & Lime: The neon nail

There's something about a neon nail that just gets me a little hot under the collar. As a girl who has got into neutrals as of late (Essie ballet slippers and Models own Utopia have become my staples), a bright lemony lime nail is quite exciting to me (and very on trend). I'm pretty sure this will be my nail of choice when I go to Barca for my 21st; bright, fun and citrusy! And as I have found two polishes which won't break the bank, this nail trend is cheap and fun to try for everyone:

1.) &other stories "Madras lime"nail colour (£5): I have completely fallen in love with &other stories as a store, as a concept, and most importantly, as a makeup brand. Their nail colours are delicious and this zingy lime colour is one of their best. The brushes are just how I like them (wide and flat), and so far I am chip free. Score.

2.) Models own "Luis Lemon"polish (£5): Part of their Neon collection (which includes other beautiful neon shades which I will DEFINITELY be giving a go), this polish is the lightest, brightest super neon yellow you could find. I love it though, so be brave and try it! At five pounds you can't really go wrong :)

Now I'm just waiting for some bright summery weather to match my new nail choices.

Dior, Dior, Dior...

A few days ago my two friends and I headed to London to check out the Dior exhibition at Harrods.  We had wanted to go for a while, but when we arrived we couldn't believe that we were told the exhibition was not open to the public after 6pm (we arrived at 6.15). It was now guest list VIP only. But did we give up? Of course not. The (VERY) well dressed men on the door took a bit of convincing, but we managed to talk our way onto the guest list, and were greeted with champagne.

The exhibition itself was short but stunning. There was so much to look at and see, making it extremely visually impressive and beautiful all round. The exhibition showcased interesting displays and outrageously gorgeous dresses worn by the likes of Natalie Portman and Audrey Hepburn. It gave an inspirational and profound taste of what Dior was really all about, and highlighted what Raf Simons is capable of for the future.

The day ended with trips to Space NK and & other stories, in which a serious beauty haul took place. We then headed over to Sketch and had some delicious cocktails and smoked salmon bagels, and the most interesting toilet experience possible (individual white pods with a voice over through some speakers...amazing!)

It was a stylish, interesting and fun day, and Emma, Emma and I would like to thank the lovely people at the Dior exhibition for giving us the chance to witness the display in person VIP style (and of course for the free champagne)!!

Did any of you guys get the opportunity to visit the exhibition? What did you think?
