My top 15 'forever repurchased' beauty heroes

I have a lot of beauty products. And I'm not saying that to brag...I'm saying it to confess. I buy far too much makeup, and too many skincare, bodycare and haircare items, and am lucky enough to be able to try the occasional new release for my job too. But there are some bits that I literally feel I couldn't live without, and are my all time staples. When trying to put this list together (it was initially meant to be made up of 10 items...) I decided by asking myself what I would run to the shops to repurchase the second I knew I had ran out of it. The above 15 products are what I finally decided on. I would recommend them all whole-heartedly, and they will forever be my beauty heroes!

1. Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray for perfectly tousled waves.

2. Real Techniques Buffing Brush for flawlessly finished foundation.

3. Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche perfume for a fresh and citrusy aroma.

4. Xen Tan Moroccan Tan fake tan for those rare occasions when I fake tan- this is the only thing I trust!

5. Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow palette for totally perfect bronzing, highlighting and contouring.

6. Bioderma Micellar Water for cleanly cleansed skin before a balm cleanser at night.

7. & Other Stories Fig Fiction body souffle for deliciously unique smelling and soft skin.

8. Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot powder for a shine-free face.

9. Mac All that Glitters eyeshadow for a beautiful sheeny all-over eye shade.

10. Makeup Forever HD foundation for absolutely spot on coverage all day.

11. Makeup Forever Full Cover concealer for especially stubborn spots, scars and everything in-between.

12. NARS Creamy Concealer for erasing under-eye circles completely.

13. Pixi Glow Tonic for exfoliated and toned skin.

14. Seche Vite top coat for making painting your nails 10,0000x easier.

15. Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in perversion for the most seductively dark pencilled eyes (I've never found an eyeliner like it!)

What are your top beauty heroes?

Working at a fashion/shopping magazine can become damn bloody expensive. Not just because you're learning & writing about new brands, but also because you are surrounded by the most dangerous type of people for your bank balance: MSE's (that's 'Mass Shopping Enablers' in my mind). Some of the girls at work & I sort of egg each other on when it comes to online shopping and all that malarkey. Some of us even follow the 'if you will, I will' rule, which always ends up in several hefty purchases. It's also pretty easy when you get one of your first "real" jobs to go a bit mental when you see some money pour into your account. Especially when you're living at home and not yet paying rent for your own place. So what am I actually getting at? Well, this month my imagination has gone pretty wild while writing away at work. Many things have been pointed out to me by my co-workers, and the amount on my wish-list has officially gone off the charts...cheers guys.
See what I am lusting over above!

The Ultimate Christmas Eyeshadow Palette

Charlotte Tilbury Fallen Angel Palette, £45

Ever since renowned makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury first launched her makeup collection not long ago, I have been eyeing up many of her lust-worthy pieces like money grows on trees. One product that really stood out to me was the Dolce Vita eyeshadow palette which bloggers and celebrities alike have been raving about. So when I got a chance to try out a very similar alternative during my work at The Times, I couldn't contain my excitement. I loved the product so much that I had to share it with you guys.

The Fallen Angel Luxury Palette is one of the most beautiful festive palettes around in my opinion, and comes from Charlotte's 'The Supermodel Look' limited edition collection. The shades are designed around the concept of a wearable smoky eye, and are bloody beautiful. The colours range from a light Champagney golden hue to a smoky black, with two taupey/bronzey colours thrown in for good measure. This is what makes the palette so genius- it is one of those that you could throw in your bag and take on holiday as it will have you sorted in the day and night-time for casual and heavier looks. You can also use the eyeshadows either dry or with a little bit of water to make them up to three times more intense on the lid. Their quality is unrivalled in terms of pigmentation and texture (buttery and blend-able) and they last well throughout the day. I reckon this beauty would be the perfect gift for any makeup-a-holic, be it your friend, sister, mum or girlfriend. On the other hand, it might just be too gorgeous to give away (I wouldn't blame you...!) You can see how Charlotte uses it in her tutorial here

In other news, (and whilst I've got your attention!) this week has been one of the best I've had in a long time. Working at The Times on the fashion desk, I spent the week doing some of my favourite things involving fashion and beauty and also did some writing for online (one piece can be read here). I met some lovely lovely people, caught up with some old friends and also stayed with my friend Michelle at her fabulous flat in Canary Wharf for a few nights, which was super fun :) Another highlight of my week has to be when I met the new love of my life, Clive. No no, Clive is not my new manfriend. He is even better. He is my friend Rachel's 10 week old Frenchie, who is the most adorable little pup I ever did lay eyes on (follow me on Instagram to see a snap- beautyandtheb). I have been terrified of dogs for a long time, but this little guy and me bonded big time, and now I'm dreaming of the day I can have one (a little puggie) of my own. Dear Father Christmas...
